Justine is 26 years old and a professional athlete. Her daily life is taken up with training, which means she sweats a lot and takes frequent showers.
In other words, she has an active life that takes its toll on her skin.

"My skin often gets dry and sensitive due to multiple daily showers - yet my forehead and nose are quite oily and I suffer from pigmentation spots and small breakouts, especially leading up to and during my period."

 

We devised a personalized routine for her, focusing on:

  • Pimples and pigmentation spots
  • Combination skin (both dry and oily)
  • Dehydration and excess sebum production
  • Sensitive skin prone to breakouts

 

We followed Justine and her skincare routine over the course of 8 weeks. As a professional athlete, she trains and swims several times a day, which takes its toll on her skin, and means it requires a little extra TLC. She has combination skin, which can be dry and sensitive in some areas, and oily in others.

    • On the days she didn't use Serum 6.5% AHA, she used Serum Vitamin C.

Week-by-week: Justine's results

Week 1


The process begins, and this phase is all about how the skin feels. How is it responding to the new routine? Any signs of irritation or reaction? In this case, the photos show a healthy, positive response, with no issues in the early days.

Week 2

 

The skin starts to show signs of breakouts/pimples. This is normal and to be expected and shows that the skin is undergoing a cleansing process.

  • Less dryness and softer skin.
  • Patches of dryness, but beginning to balance out.
  • "Pimple patches work fast - really, really effective!"

The skin starts to look clearer, shedding that dull, tired look as cell renewal kicks in—revealing a fresh, healthy glow.

Week 4

 

The skin feels cleaner now. Fewer underlying pimples and a smoother, more even feel to the touch.

  • The skin is less oily.
  • Hyperpigmentation on the chin starts to fade.
  • Makeup looks less greasy.

The skin now looks more even-toned and feels noticeably cleaner overall.

Week 6

 

The skin begins to regain its deep radiance and glow. It now feels more supple and resilient.

  • Noticeably fewer pimples and uneven patches.
  • Hyperpigmentation is still present, but significantly improved.
  • Skin feels moisturized—far more hydrated than before.

Skin tone is more even. Pigmentation looks more even, and the skin’s surface feels noticeably smoother.

Week 8

 

The skin has reached a point where it feels soft, supple, and far less prone to breakouts. It feels comfortably hydrated, and it shows in the fresh, healthy radiance.

  • The skin appears less uneven and visibly smoother.
